Valentine’s Day | Self-Contained Smiles

I’ve added a whole bunch of stuff to my TpT store recently…and haven’t had any sales. This isn’t unusual, seeing as I only have 157 followers, generally add new items sporadically, don’t have any big-ticket items, and a bunch of other factors. Between September and October, I was getting one, sometimes even two, sales each day, which was extremely exciting. Now I’m back to three a month. And this is a lucky month. I’m not complaining at all, since I know I haven’t put enough effort in to be seeing more than that, but if you’re like me, just know you’re not alone!

Yesterday, I had a student who called me a female dog, although she used a more pejorative term, and then added, “what the f#!&,” I guess to really make sure I knew that she wasn’t happy with the situation.

When I saw her again today, she ran up to me, gave me a hug, told me I’m beautiful (that’s true, although not as much without my brownish lipstick, blonde highlights, braces, and Old Navy performance fleece) and she loves me (that depends on the day), and grabbed my hand, and informed me that I would be walking her out to her bus.

I completely understand where she’s coming from. I run hot and cold too- just ask my boyfriend, but please don’t believe most of what he says! But the hot and cold principle applies to other things in my life as well. Putting aside my multitudinous maladies, there will be a couple of weeks at a time where I can’t wait to get home and start designing things, and then suddenly, I have no desire to make a thing. Lately I’ve been pushing myself to do a bit each day, even if I don’t feel like it, because I usually start enjoying it once I begin. Sometimes that’s hard to remember! There are also so many other things that I like doing, and, as I think we all know, it’s impossible to fit everything in.
