This was taken at my 11th birthday party in January 1999. Rocking my lipstick, hair clips (oh, how I wish I could find a picture of myself with sections of hair pulled back with butterfly clips) and enormous scrunchy, I knew I was hot stuff. I remember asking my friends if I should wear the lipstick to school. I can’t remember what they said, but I’m hoping that I had caring friends who told me absolutely not. My mom probably wouldn’t have let me anyway, but that’s beside the point.

Fast forward about three years later, and now I not only had an Old Navy performance fleece- super cool- but also blonde highlights. Yeah, braces, but, come on, blonde highlights.

At this point you’re probably wondering what the point of sharing this on a teaching blog is. Valid thought.

I’ve been adding some things to Teachers Pay Teachers here and there over the past year, came across some old products . . . and nearly died of embarrassment.

I was going to make fun of myself even more and put some horrifying examples on here, but it seems that I also deleted them from my computer. However, some cringe-worthy, but not quite as humiliating examples remain in my store. Feel free to have a laugh. I did remove clipart that I did not want anyone to buy; whatever is left might be ugly, but I’m satisfied enough with the content to leave it up.

Much as I’m dreading the task seeing as I hate making cover pages, I definitely want to update them. But, this makes me wonder. If I thought that the clipart (and brownish lipstick and blonde!!! highlights) looked good then, how do I know that I won’t look back later and think the same thing about my style now?

Granted, tastes change, and things go in and out of style, but I think that we can all agree that some things just shouldn’t have ever happened. Like some of my product covers.

I’m happy with what I’ve been making, although I recognize the possibility that I’ll be back in another two years (speaking of, how has it been TWO YEARS since I last wrote on here?!?!) to lament my poor design choices.

Now, even though bashing myself is my greatest strength, I’ll move on from that and on to some products that you’ll hopefully agree are easier on the eyes! All images are linked to the product in my TpT store.

12 Teal and Gold Digital Papers

I do love these at the moment!!

12 Teal and Gold Digital Papers

If you venture on over to my Pinterest account, you’ll find lots of engaging and meaningful ideas and free resources for the classroom as well as free commercial use products for TpT sellers.

Now, a freebie. I experimented with both gold glitter and gold foil for the teal and gold papers and decided to go with the foil. But, I had two gold glitter papers hanging around, so why let them rot on my computer? These are free for personal and commercial use. Full terms of use are included in the download, which is hosted on Dropbox, and can also be found on the actual teal and gold product page. Basically, you just can’t sell or share the original files anywhere or claim them as your own. I’m pretty easygoing when it comes to terms!

Just click on the images or the download link.
